Budapest Exchange

Learning from each others cultures and history, the Budapest exchange provides an important insight for our students. The theme of the exchange has over the years focused on both natural and social science topics, such as the achievements of the Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg.

The Budapest exchange programme has been a part of The International High School since 2010 and is highly appreciated by students and staff alike. Each academic year, the teachers in Gothenburg and Budapest settle on a theme to set the tone for the exchange. Over the years, students and reachers from the respective schools have worked with themes such as Raoul Wallenberg's heroics in Budapest in 1944, street art, sustainable development and propaganda.

This year, the group of students and teachers selected for the Budapest exchange spent five days with their Hungarian classmates in October. The theme for 2025 was Coming to terms with the past: walking in the footsteps of Raoul Wallenberg.
