Workplace-Based Learning (APL) in Vocational Programs

Hopefully, it feels both fun and exciting to apply to one of our vocational programs at Angered High School.

The vocational programs we offer are the Health and Social Care Program and the Sales and Service Program.

During your education, you will learn many things that prepare you for a future working life or further studies. You will gain a lot of new knowledge that you can use in all aspects of life, regardless of the career path you choose.

In addition to the theory you will study at school, workplace-based learning (APL) is also included. This means you will spend at least 15 weeks at a workplace, divided into various periods over three years. Each period will take place in different settings, such as elderly care, disability support, or healthcare for those in the Health and Social Care Program, and in grocery stores, clothing stores, or other types of businesses for those in the Sales and Service Program. APL is linked to the vocational courses you are studying at the time.

Completing APL is mandatory and crucial for passing all courses and subjects and for achieving a vocational diploma.
