How can cities and regions support a more circular building sector?
Gothenburg European Office, Småland Blekinge Halland South Sweden and Lille Métropole invites you to a breakfast webinar the 23rd
of June 09:00 - 10:00 (CET) to discuss this topical issue.
The EU has put forward several ambitious initiatives that support the transition to a circular building sector. These initiatives include the EU Action Plan for athe EU Action Plan for a Circular Economy, the Renovation Wave, the New European Bauhaus and the framework for life-cycle assessments of buildings level(s). Regions and cities have a crucial role in the transition to a circular economy and the implementation of these EU initiatives.
Josefina Lindblom from the European Commission DG ENVI will kick-off the breakfast by giving us an update on the EU initiatives. This will be followed by examples of how cities and regions have promoted circularity in the building sector through different means such as public procurement, social housing collaborations, and collaborations between private and public actors in the building sector.
Together, we will discuss challenges to circular building and what remains to be done at EU, regional and local level.
